Acts 12:5-11

When God sends you on a mission to do something, He will see to it that you carry out that mission.

That does NOT mean that it will be a bed of roses. You will face persecution, sometimes to the point of death.

But, if God determines that your mission is to spread his message to tens, hundreds, thousands, or millions of people, you will do just that if you follow Him in faith.

Here are three similar acts of God’s miraculous intervention, all on a similar vein. Peter and Paul from the New Testament and Brother Yun, who is currently living in Germany.

These are all quotes from the Bible as I coudldn’t make it any clearer than God’s own words.

Peter Freed from Prison
Acts 12:5-11
5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

The Philippian Jailer Saved
Acts 16:25-34
25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

Brother Yun – taken from his Wikipedia page
Brother Yun is an exiled Chinese Christian house church leader, evangelist, and proponent of the Back To Jerusalem movement. Brother Yun was instrumental in the development of the Christian house church networks in China during the 1980s and 90s.

For not joining the government-controlled Christian organization, he was imprisoned and tortured by the government authorities. He was arrested and sentenced to Zhengzhou Maximum Security prison. While in prison, Yun continued his ministry, resulting in some prisoners and prison officials becoming born-again Christians.

Yun eventually escaped this unescapable prison. He said he heard the voice of the Holy Spirit, telling him to simply walk out the heavily guarded prison gate. Risking being shot to death on the spot, he wrote later that he obeyed the voice, and walked straight through several prison doors that were somehow left open in front of many prison guards, across the prison yard and finally out of the main gate. Yun stated that it was as if he had become invisible to the guards who stared straight through him. Although many expressed doubts that such a thing could happen, some prison guards have lost their jobs because of his escape. It is reported that the official investigation by the Chinese Government concluded that “Yun received no human help in his escape.” These reports have been also confirmed by numerous prisoners who occupied the same prison cell as Yun. He remains the only person to have escaped from this notorious maximum security prison. – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brother_Yun
