Roman’s Road to Salvation

What is the Roman's Road to Salvation?

Roman’s Road to Salvation

God has been putting it on my heart recently to talk about salvation. I was recently on a social media platform where I saw the pain of so many people. I also saw the devil hard at work and I actually wept. This post is a little different than many of my other ones. I want to go over the way to salvation using the “Roman’s Road”. When doing the research into the passages, I chose to use the words I found as on other sites because I feel they explain them much better than I can. I’ve linked to them.

The Roman’s Road

Romans 3:23

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

No one is exempt. Not only are we condemned for sins of the flesh, like murder and adultery.. We are also condemned for our prideful thoughts, works of the flesh, self-righteous attitudes, and failure to love the Lord our God with all our heart and honor Him as we ought

Romans 5:8

Romans 5:8
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus died in our place. Because of our sin, we deserved to suffer God’s angry judgment. We deserved death. Christ took that judgment for our sin on Himself on the cross.

Romans 6:23

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In contrast with death, the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. The verse is not speaking of physical death but is contrasting spiritual death with eternal life.

Romans 11:6

Romans 11:6
But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

If works, in any sense, contribute to salvation, then that salvation is no longer “by grace.” Paul’s point, here, is that because salvation is, in fact, by grace, works have absolutely zero part to play in securing it

Romans 4:5

Romans 4:5
And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.

Sin separates us from fellowship with our heavenly Father. Although we may be out of fellowship with Him for a season due to our post-salvation sin, He will never hold those sins against us – for we are justified by grace through faith in Christ

Romans 10:13

Romans 10:13
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Those who turn to Christ in faith seeking salvation will be saved.
