The Gate to Life is Narrow

Sheep will stay together for protection. If you can get one to go, the rest will follow. However, if that one sheep is headed to disaster, all the sheep will head to disaster. People, whether they like to admit it or not, are a lot like sheep. We go with the flow because it can offer some form of perceived protection. If the people we are following are headed to destruction, we are all headed to destruction.

This is why sheep need a shepherd. A shepherd takes care of his sheep and guides them along the right path. The sheep following the shepherd will not get lost. The path we must follow is narrow and we need guidance. The gate to life is narrow.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:13-14

The Wide Road

Too many people take the easy road. They want to be like others in the world. People like to be considered part of the crowd. However, following Jesus is not the “in thing”. You will be mocked and persecuted. There are true lifestyle changes. You will have to take the path not chosen more often than not.

The popular and easy path will lead to destruction. When someone tells you to join their faith and tells you how large they are, it’s time to walk away. The number of people in the faith is not what saves you. As a matter of fact, Jesus said that the gate that leads to life is narrow and few will find it.

A wide path is open to the many approaches that people try to reach Heaven. I’ve heard it said from famous people that they feel there are many paths to God. That leads to the wide road that Jesus warned against. He said that there is only one path. Who are you going to believe? The famous people who want to continue living in the world or Jesus?

Jesus is the Only Way

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6

The gate to life is narrow and Jesus is the only way to get to it and through it. Do not follow others just because the crowd is doing it. Avoid false teachers who tell you there are many paths to God. They are leading you to destruction.

Have a blessed and prosperous week!

Are you struggling with the belief that God actually loves you? Do you struggle to believe that He wants a real relationship with you? I struggled with this for years. Through studying the scripture, I grew to understand God’s love, grace, and mercy. I created a 30-day book that I believe will help you, too.
